Yuan-Hao Liu is a physicist. He graduated from National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan and received his PhD in 2009. He spent a year at JRC Petten when he attended his first Young BNCT meeting in Birmingham in 2007. Immediately after graduation, he joined the Nuclear Science and Technology Development Centre of NTHU to lead the THOR reactor-based BNCT project. In August 2010, the THOR successfully completed the 1st BNCT treatment. Liu was the young chairman of the YBNCT-2011 held in Hsinchu. At the end of 2013, he left NTHU and started a new position in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2014. He is also the founder of Neuboron Medtech Ltd. (now expanded and known as Neuboron Medical Group). Between 2019 and 2021, he built the first accelerator-based BNCT centre in China at Xiamen Humanity Hospital. On 9 October 2022, Neuboron and the hospital successfully completed the first in-hospital BNCT treatment outside Japan, 12 years after the first BNCT case at THOR. Liu currently serves as a Member at Large on the Executive Committee and has been a Councilor of ISNCT since 2010.
