One can consciously and predictably expect death,
and yet it will always surprise us

Throughout her professional life, Dr Wojtkowska has been associated with the Świerk Centre. She started her work at Świerk in 1956, and after her retirement she continued to work until 2016.
After graduating from the University of Warsaw in 1956, she started working at the IBJ, gaining extensive experience in experiments related to the study of nuclear reactions and nuclear spectroscopy during her time at the IA Department. In 1967-69, she was a research intern in Dubna, where she studied nuclear ion capture. In 1973, she presented a thesis entitled. "Asymmetry of angular distributions of neutrons from polarised muon capture". In 1973, she again worked in Dubna in an experimental team that observed the deflection of relativistic protons passing through a bent crystal.
From 1990 to 2016, she was head of the Cyclotron C-30 Laboratory in the Department of Nuclear Spectroscopy and Technology.
Dr Wojtkowska, always young in spirit, impressed with her extraordinary passion for physics and diligence in her work.
She was a person of great knowledge, professional competence and vast experience.
We bid farewell to a wonderful person whom we will remember as an empathetic, cheerful and always smiling colleague.
