It is with deep regret that we announce the death of the late Wiesław Szmek on 8 January 2023.

He worked in Świerk for about 30 years, first at the Institute of Atomic Energy and then at the National Centre for Nuclear Research. Before retiring, he worked at the State Atomic Energy Agency. He dealt mainly with problems related to the optimisation of nuclear power plants. He spent two years in the USA and several years in Temelin (Czech Republic).

He will be laid to rest at the Military Powązki; the funeral will take place on 19 January 2023 at 15.00 (entrance through gate 1).

Always quiet and calm, always ready to help, simply - a good man.

He will be missed by all who knew him.
