Research-technical specialist in safety analyses of nuclear reactors
Location: Otwock - Świerk - in the outskirts of Warsaw with daily transport services provided.
Job/tasks description:
- Participation in the work of teams on safety analysis of nuclear reactors in the scope of the use of various construction materials resistant to high temperatures and ionizing radiation.
- Development of experimental and theoretical competences in the field of characterizing ma-terials resistant to high temperatures and ionizing radiation.
- Joining the work of research teams dealing with the studies of the mechanisms of interaction of ionizing radiation with matter in the context of reactor safety
- Analytical work in the field of NCBJ activity: creating documents and substantive materials (reports, presentations, notes) and organizational, translations.
- Performing other activities ordered by the Laboratory head and other superiors at NCBJ.
- Performing duties in accordance with the Institute's Working Regulations.
- Compliance with state and official secrets, work discipline, health and safety regulations, fire regulations, rules of protection against ionizing radiation.
Requirements:
- Holding a PhD in science or technology
- Ability to perform calculations on estimation of absorbed doses and number of material defects arising due to interaction with ionizing radiation.
- Knowledge of the issues related to the interaction of ionizing radiation with living and in-animate matter
- Knowledge of experimental techniques related to the study of the formation of crystal lattice defects as a result of interaction with ionizing radiation.
- Ability to use experimental and analytical software (e.g. molecular dynamics techniques) in research on the mechanisms of interaction of ionizing radiation with matter.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the research profile related to nuclear energy.
- Knowledge of the phenomena of fluid flow, heat transfer and nuclear reactors.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Very good command in English (min. B2).
