Polish border protected even better

A third comprehensive X-ray scanner for non-intrusive inspection of large-scale goods for the detection of threats or smuggling attempts has been delivered to the Polish border. The new MultiControl CanisMatic Rail device will operate at the Hrubieszów railway border crossing. Like the two previous devices already operating in Kuźnica Białostocka and Korsze, it is the work of the Polish company MultiControl sp. z o.o., and was created thanks to advanced NCBJ technology.

The heart of the device, the Lillyput 6/9i industrial accelerator, was produced at the HITEC Nuclear Equipment Plant at the National Centre for Nuclear Research. It is the source of a scanning beam of gamma radiation that penetrates railway cars. The Lillyput 6/9i two-energy accelerator, in combination with a detection system, allows the detection of goods of different densities thanks to the possibility of optimizing the energy of the scanning radiation for a given type of controlled load.

The complete know-how of the accelerator and the entire system was developed in Poland, and the system is a 100% Polish product and a winner of the Teraz Polska competition. The system will contribute to better protection of our borders - the external borders of the European Union - against attempts to import dangerous goods and smuggle undeclared loads, thus improving security and protecting our economic interests.
