The National Centre for Nuclear Research invites applications for the position of  

Physicist
in the Astrophysics Division
(BP4_515)

Localization: Warsaw

Description of tasks:

  • analysis of observational data of low surface brightness galaxies and interpretation of results
  • co-preparation of publications and conference presentations based on results obtained in projects related to observational astrophysics, as well as promotion of research results
  • participation in the life of the Department of Astrophysics, including meetings, seminars, and co-organization of workshops, conferences, and other activities

Requirements for the candidate:

  • graduation from a doctoral program in physics Proficiency in software for analyzing the spectral lines of galaxies 

Preferred qualifications:

  • documented experience in the analysis of large astronomical datasets
  • documented experience in the analysis of galaxy metallicities
  • experience working on the fundamental plane (metallicity, stellar mass, star formation rate)
  • membership in large optical survey collaborations
