The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of:

Postdoc
(nr. ref. FM2_330)

Localization: Świerk near Otwock - in the outskirts of Warsaw with daily transport services provide.

Description of tasks:

  • conducting scientific research and publishing achievements
  • obtaining research grants and managing research projects
  • independent operation of the experimental system and carrying out processes using pulsed magnetron techniques. Technology development
  • analysis and interpretation of experimental results using techniques such as: XRD, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, mechanical properties
  • reporting the current status of ongoing experiments

Requirements:

  • title of a doctor of technical sciences or related disciplines (focused on materials engineering)
  • experience in laboratory work (min 5 years) – coatings synthesis using plasma surface engineering methods (magnetron sputtering, arc method)
  • experience in sample preparation for experimentation and layerd materials structure characterization (min. 5 years)
  • experience in planning and conducting scientific research
  • analytical skills - conducting research taking into account various measurement techniques and analyzing the obtained structural and mechanical data
  • documented participation in research projects (min. 5 projects)
  • fluent knowledge of English in speech and writing
  • communications skills, systematic and organized appraoch to work
  • ability to work in a team
  • willingness to undertake new tasks

Additional assets:

  • published scientific works (min. 15) related to the field of materials engineering - surface engineering
  • knowledge of measurement techniques, e.g. SEM, XRD, TEM, or Raman spectroscopy, optical and electrical properties - documented in publications
  • knowledge of simulation programs used in structural research
  • experience in working with students (teaching skills)
