The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of:

Postdoc
(ref. TJ3_355)

Localization: Świerk near Otwock - in the outskirts of Warsaw with daily transport services provide.

Description of tasks:

  • Modelling physical processes in gaseous detectors.
  • Using and developing simulation codes such as Garfield++, Heed, Degrad, and codes for simulation of radiation interaction with diagnostic elements, e.g., Geant4.
  • Analysis of simulation data using numerical tools, e.g., Matlab.
  • Developing experimental concepts for validating simulation results.
  • Conducting experimental research in a radiation diagnostics laboratory.
  • Processing and analyzing data from multi-channel detector readout systems.

Requirements:

  • A PhD degree in physics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in modelling physical processes in gaseous detectors.
  • Knowledge of plasma physics and plasma radiation diagnostic techniques.
  • Proficiency in computational codes such as Garfield++, Heed, Degrad, Geant4, Matlab.
  • Ability to analyze simulation data and compare it with experimental results.
  • Experience in experimental work in a radiation diagnostics laboratory will be an asset.
  • Familiarity with data processing methods for multi-channel detector readout systems will be advantageous.
  • English skills to enable effective communication and publication of research.
