The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of

Professor
at the High Energy Physics Division

Location: Warsaw,Pasteura 7

The employee will be involved in research in the field of elementary particle physics, in particular experimental studies of neutrinos in experiments located in Japan: T2K and Hyper-Kamiokande. The research includes searching for combined CP symmetry violation in neutrino interactions and precise determination of neutrino oscillation parameters. In the planned Hyper-Kamiokande experiment, great precision will be achieved, which will allow for answering currently open questions regarding neutrino oscillations. The work will be related to tasks within projects implemented in the international research infrastructure located in Japan (JPARC and KEK).

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Academic title of professor
  • Experience in experimental particle physics
  • Experience in working in international research team
  • Experience in leading a research team
  • Experience in analyzing large data sets, statistical interpretation of results, knowledge of statistical and numerical methods
  • Ability to use various tools to analyze data in a large experiment, prepare publications, plan analyzes and tests
  • Fluent knowledge of English
