The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of:
Professor of the Institute
at Radiation Detectors and Plasma Diagnostics Division
nr ref.: TJ3_367
Localization: Świerk near Otwock - in the outskirts of Warsaw with daily transport services provide.
Description of tasks:
- Participating in the implementation of statutory tasks conducted at the Radiation Detectors and Plasma Diagnostics Division (TJ3)
- Continuous analysis of opportunities for acquiring or co-participating in research projects funded by external agencies
- Establishing and developing international cooperation, as well as participating in international research projects
- Conducting scientific research and publishing research results in reputable scientific journals
- Presenting results at international and national conferences, symposia, and workshops
- Independent organisation and effective management of one's own working time
- Cooperating with research team members in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism
- Compliance with the Institute's Work Regulations and applicable regulations in the field of: protection of classified and official information, work discipline, occupational safety and health, fire protection, protection against ionizing radiation
Requirements:
- Title of professor or the academic degree of habilitated doctor in the field of natural sciences, in the discipline of physical sciences;
- Well-established scientific achievements in the field of ionizing radiation detector physics, particularly scintillation detectors using silicon photomultipliers (SiPM), as evidenced by publications in renowned international journals;
- Comprehensive knowledge in the field of ionizing radiation measurements;
- Proficient in the English language in both writing and speaking;
- Experience in leading research projects (as a manager, deputy manager, or project leader), as well as in managing research teams (e.g., as a task leader or work package leader);
- Experience working in international scientific teams;
- Documented successes in securing external funding for research activities.
Additional assets:
- The ability to lead and nurture the development of young researchers in the team
