The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of
Research Group Leader
(ref. BP2_343)
Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw
Description of tasks:
The position is associated with the advancement of the Polish Free Electron Laser (PolFEL) Phase II and the formation of a theory group dedicated to this and related topics. The ideal candidate is expected to actively seek research grants, develop an independent research agenda, and build a team. Furthermore, they should contribute to planning and proposing potential research activities within the PolFEL framework.
Requirements:
- Candidates should have knowledge and expertise in at least one of these topics, sufficient to build and lead a research team around ii:
- Electronic structure of strongly correlated materials
- Theory of biological molecules at near-atomic resolution
- Structural dynamics studies of molecular solutions on the pico- and femtosecond time scale
- Modeling of electronic topological structures
- Physics of molecules and materials at the fastest time scales
Additional assets:
- Experience in leading and managing a research group in the specified areas related to the physics of electromagnetic radiation interaction with matter, a robust publication record, invitations to present at conferences, and successful acquisition of grants in national or international competitions.
