Department of Fundamental Research Director's Awards

As in previous years, the awards of director of Department of Fundamental Research for scientific achievements and science outreach in 2025 were presented. On June 1, 2026, a special departmental colloquium was held, during which the awards were presented and the winners lectured on their honored achievements.
The scientific awards were presented to:
- dr William Pearson for his research on colliding galaxies, particularly the impact of this process on the rate of star formation;
- dr hab. Nicholas Keeley for his key contribution to the publication demonstrating that the excited state of the exotic beryllium nucleus 10Be is a four-body system of two alpha particles and two neutrons;
- dr hab. Tolga Altinoluk and dr Guillaume Beuf for a series of theoretical papers concerning predictions of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) under conditions that will be achievable at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), currently under construction;
- dr Joanna Zalipska for numerous popular science lectures and articles mainly on neutrino physics.
