As in previous years, the awards of director of Department of Fundamental Research for scientific achievements and science outreach in 2025 were presented. On June 1, 2026, a special departmental colloquium was held, during which the awards were presented and the winners lectured on their honored achievements.

The scientific awards were presented to:

• dr William Pearson for his research on colliding galaxies, particularly the impact of this process on the rate of star formation;
• dr hab. Nicholas Keeley for his key contribution to the publication demonstrating that the excited state of the exotic beryllium nucleus ¹⁰Be is a four-body system of two alpha particles and two neutrons;
• dr hab. Tolga Altinoluk and dr Guillaume Beuf for a series of theoretical papers concerning predictions of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) under conditions that will be achievable at the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), currently under construction; 
• dr Joanna Zalipska for numerous popular science lectures and articles mainly on neutrino physics.
