NCBJ in the debate on Poland’s nuclear strategy at BNEF 2026

Poland’s nuclear energy strategy is one of the key topics at the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum. The debate dedicated to this issue features the Director of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, Prof. Jakub Kupecki. Together with representatives of the public administration, he discusses, among other things, the importance of the Polish Nuclear Power Programme, plans for the construction of a second nuclear power plant, the selection of technology, and the challenges related to integrating these investments with the needs of the energy system.
The Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum (BNEF) is an international platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, focused on the development of nuclear energy in the Baltic Sea region and Central Europe. For the third time, representatives of public administration, industry, international institutions, and the scientific community are meeting in Gdańsk. The event is held under the patronage of the National Centre for Nuclear Research.
This year’s Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum, held under the patronage of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, is dedicated to the role of nuclear energy in building secure, stable, and resilient societies. The conference addresses, among other topics, nuclear technologies, sustainable financing models, and international cooperation strengthening the European energy system. An important theme is also the role of nuclear energy in the national energy mix, including an analysis of other countries’ experiences and the challenges related to developing the Polish value chain.
The discussion panels feature leaders of global nuclear organizations, experts, and representatives of companies involved in the development of the sector in Poland and the region. The programme also includes specialized workshops on topics such as quality management, nuclear safety culture, and waste management.
The Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum is co-organized by Biznes dla Klimatu, the Fahrenheit Universities, and the UN Global Compact Network Poland.
