The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of
Assistant professor
at the High Energy Physics Division
Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw
Description of tasks:
- Work in a team studying the interactions of relativistic nuclei.
- Participation in the scientific life of the Division and the Department of Fundamental Research, participation in meetings, seminars, tutorials, organization of workshops and conferences.
- Supervision of the DCS (Data Control System) in the NA61/SHINE experiment at CERN and participation in the operation of the detection system during data collection.
- Contribution to the analysis and interpretation of results related to relativistic nuclei interactions with nuclear targets.
Requirements for the candidate:
- PhD in physical sciences obtained in the field of elementary particle physics or nuclear physics.
- Experience in working with elementary particle detectors used in the NA61/SHINE experiment.
- Programming in C++.
- Knowledge of English sufficient for free communication and publication of research results in international journals.
- Ability to write scientific publications and present research results at international conferences.
Additional assets:
- Knowledge of the experimental setup and data analysis of the NA61/SHINE experiment.
- Experience with EPOS and UrQMD event generators.
