The National Center for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) is one of the bigest research institutes in Poland. Wide research activity takes place at NCBJ, especially basic research in nuclear physics and related fields, reactor research and development of nuclear fuel, safety of nuclear installations and many others.

Currently, we are looking for a person for a position in the Department of Astrophysics  

Physicist 

Localization: Warsaw, Pasteura 7

Description of tasks:

  • analysis of observational data, interpretation of results,
  • co-preparation of publications and conference presentations on the results obtained in projects related to observational astrophysics and promotion of research results
  • participation in the life of the Department of Astrophysics - participation in meetings, seminars, co-organization of workshops, conferences and other projects

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Graduation from a doctoral program in physics
  • Knowledge of machine learning methods, including the Transformes algorithms,

  • documented experience in the analysis of big astronomical data
  • documented experience in the analysis of low surface brightness galaxies
