The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of

Postoc
at the High Energy Physics Division
(ref. BP3_339)

Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw

Description of tasks:

  • Work in a team investigating the interactions of relativistic nuclei.
  • Participation in the scientific life of the Divison and the Department of Basic Research, including participation in meetings, seminars, colloquia, and the organization of workshops and conferences.
  • Participation in overseeing the operation of the detection system during data collection.
  • Contribution to the analysis and interpretation of measurement results from events involving interactions of relativistic nuclei with nuclear targets.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Obtaining a PhD in Physics in the field of particle physics or nuclear physics.
  • Experience working with particle detectors used in the NA61/SHINE experiment.
  • Experience with programming in C and C++.
  • Knowledge of the English language at a level that allows for fluent communication and the publication of research results in international journals.
  • Ability to write scientific publications and present research findings at international conferences.

Additional assets:

  • Knowledge of the production of strange quarks in hadron-hadron and nucleus-nucleus interactions.
  • Experience working with event generators such as EPOS and UrQMD.
