It is with deep regret and sadness that we have received the news of the sudden death of the late Edward Rurarz, PhD, a long-time employee of the Nuclear Research Institute and contributor to "Postępy Techniki Jądrowej".

The funeral will take place on Monday 14 March 2022 at 11.00 a.m. at the cemetery in Marysin Wawerski.

He was a man of great heart and special sensitivity, an outstanding specialist in nuclear technology, a reliable researcher with great knowledge and passion. He was a great enthusiast of the cyclotron method of producing radioisotopes for medical purposes and infected his circle of co-workers with his enthusiasm. The idea for the CERAD project currently under way at NCBJ has its roots in the collaboration between physicists and chemists inspired by Edward Rurarz. It is a pity that he did not live to see its completion.
