NCBJ becomes honorary patron of the 5th Future Energy Congress

Poland’s energy transition is entering a critical phase. The expansion of renewable energy capacity is no longer sufficient to meet the challenges facing the system, and the growing investment gap and grid connection barriers require immediate regulatory changes. At the 5th Future Energy Congress (KEP) in Toruń, politicians, leading experts and decision-makers from the energy sector will tackle the task of designing a new energy market architecture.

This year’s Congress theme – “New Energy Market Architecture” – marks a shift away from theoretical discussions towards concrete technical and legal details. The programme of the event, organised by the “Z energią o prawie” Association, focuses on three strategic pillars: unlocking the potential of the grid, flexibility technologies and safeguarding the competitiveness of Polish industry.

Expert opinion: Regulation as the cornerstone of investment

A key element of the debate will be striking a balance between the rapid pace of technological change and the legal stability that is essential for new investment.

– The energy transition in Poland is no longer a project for the future, but has become an urgent operational challenge. Today, the key question is no longer ‘whether’ to build new sources, but ‘how’ to design the legal and market frameworks so that these investments are safe for the system and profitable for industry – emphasises Aleksander Tretyn, President of the Association. – We believe that a stable energy market architecture must be based on regulatory predictability. The 5th Future Energy Congress is a forum where we bring the legal perspective into contact with business realities.

The three core themes of the 5th KEP

The Congress agenda comprehensively covers the sector’s key issues:

  • Market architecture and resources: Analysis of the so-called ‘anti-blackout package’, the “connection revolution” and the evolution of support schemes (CfD, capacity market) post-2030.
  • Flexibility and technologies of the future: Debates on the profitability of energy storage, sector coupling processes and the use of AI in grid optimisation.
  • End users and industry: Discussion on reindustrialisation and ensuring energy prices that allow Polish companies to compete effectively on the global stage.

A format focused on dialogue

The Future Energy Congress stands out in the industry by moving away from one-way presentations in favour of active, substantive networking.

– In addition to panel discussions, we have organised numerous roundtable sessions and workshops. We want every participant to have a real opportunity to contribute their experience to the debate and be heard by key stakeholders in the sector – notes Kornel Koronowski, Chair of the KEP Programme Council.

Registration is now open

In response to the huge interest from the sector, the organisers have announced that registration for the anniversary edition of the Congress is now open. The event will take place on 13–14 April 2026 in Toruń.
